The short version
Corvid Group · Field notes on digital leadership
Twenty-five years of digital transformation, distilled into lessons worth stealing.
I've spent my career building the content, personalization, and commerce platforms behind global consumer brands — and leading the transformations that made them work. This site is where I write down what that experience actually taught me, so the next person doesn't have to learn it the expensive way.
Lessons from the field
Not theory — the patterns that survived contact with real budgets, real deadlines, and real organizations. Each note ends with the short version, for readers in a hurry.

Areas of expertise
The work I get brought in to do — and the subjects I write about here.
Digital Transformation
Turning legacy operations into digital businesses — strategy, operating models, and the unglamorous change management that decides whether any of it sticks.
Product Leadership
Owning roadmaps for content and commerce platforms used across markets and brands, and aligning executives, engineers, and markets around one sequence of bets.
Personalization at Scale
Recommendations, targeted experiences, and social proof run as one measured program across markets and languages worldwide — not a pile of disconnected vendor features. Grew personalization-influenced revenue to $38.1M in FY24.
Experimentation
A/B testing run as a portfolio: clear hypotheses, honest readouts, and results that compound quarter over quarter instead of one lucky win.
Content Platforms & CMS
Selecting, migrating, and governing the content platforms global teams actually publish from — and making sure a replatform launches without breaking the business.
Ecommerce & Customer Experience
End-to-end customer journeys that convert: storefront, content, and the operational plumbing underneath, across EMEA and North America.
About Steve
I started in digital in 1998, when "ecommerce strategy" was mostly an argument that the internet was not a fad. I joined a global entertainment brand's U.S. operation as one of its first American hires, and I've been building digital businesses ever since — through fashion, specialty retail, and consumer goods, and most recently leading content and personalization product for a portfolio of global consumer brands, for brands selling across EMEA and North America.
The through-line of my career is translation: between executives and engineers, between global strategy and local markets, between what a platform can do and what a customer actually needs. The result I'm proudest of is the hardest to count: the teams that kept doing the work well after I left the room.
Technology is rarely the hard part of transformation. The hard part is getting smart people to change how they work — and stay changed.
Through Corvid Group, I advise organizations on digital transformation, product strategy, and personalization — and I write these field notes to pass the lessons along. Corvids — crows and ravens — are the great problem-solvers of the bird world: they watch, they remember, they use tools, and they learn from each other. It's not a bad model for an operator.
